Opening Prayer:
Asha Aunty told a beautiful story about Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland. Kids learnt that they should keep trying till they achieve their goals, and to never give up. Even little things such as the spider can inspire you to work harder.
Continuing with the story theme, the children learnt the Sanskrit word for Spider: - “Thanthunabhah”. They completed the spider picture by drawing the 8 legs and counting them in sanskrit. We had green, blue, pink and red spiders as well.

Comments:
Thanks to
Jacqueline Aunty who had brought in pictures of Ganesha, Saraswathi and Vishnu. The kids had a good look at the pictures and described them. Some of them told the various names of Ganesha such as Vakratunda, Ganapati, Pillayar and Gajanana. Mamtha Aunty led the class through Vakratunda Mahakaya,
Saraswati Namasthubhyam, Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu and Karaagre Vasathe Lakshmi.
We welcomed back Meera Aunty from India. She sang this beautiful song to us about all Gods being one, regardless of how you address them or call them. Be it Rama or Allah, he will respond if you call him with Love and Devotion.
Jacqueline Aunty led us with the “dropping of the shells game”. Most of the kids came up with the correct count!!
Meera Aunty led the kids from Shlokas 1 through 5. Shlokas 4 and 5 were introduced to them. Most of them chanted 1 to 3 shlokas well.

- Practise Geeta with your kids. Have them LISTEN to the shlokas (at least 1 through 3) everyday. Listening is just as important as memorizing.
- Please do take the kids to bathroom before they are dropped off. As you know, in this age group one raises the hand, the entire class wants to go to bathroom.
Sevikas: Jacqueline, Mamtha, Meera and Asha. We had 2 Parent Volunteers
