Comments:

  • Yesterday we had the Geeta chanting competition which many of the pre-K class participated in; CONGRATULATIONS to all, as all of you are winners!!!!! The pre-K class teachers are very, very proud of all of you for doing such a great job!!! Thank you parents for encouraging and practicing with them for this event.
  • Congratulations to Rishi Raghav who placed 2nd in the pre-K section. He will be competing in the finals this Saturday, May 2. GOOD LUCK RISHI!!!
  • The pre-K class had the most participants registered, for the 2nd year in a row!!!! Way to go!!! As a result, we enjoyed some ICE CREAM last week!!!
  • Mamtha Aunty was able to talk today, after having her tooth pulled last week, so we started with our daily stretches and beginning prayers.
  • After reviewing the shlokas and gods/goddesses that we have learned about, we practiced the 3 songs that the children have learned: "Great God Ganapathy", "My God is So Great" and "Khate be Rama Kaho". Please encourage your child to sing and act out the words for you.
  • We have only a few weeks left for our end-of-the-year program on June 7th; We have put together a little program for the parents to enjoy; We will be notifying all the parents about costumes, and other accessories and props we will be using for the program. Many of you have indicated that you would be able to help, and we will definitely take you up on that.
  • Lastly, the Toddler class and pre-K class have joined together to help with the end-of-the-year decorations that will be displayed throughout the school, on June 14th. We need parents to volunteer to make decorations and help set up the decorations around the school. Rashmi, from the Toddler class is in charge of the decoration committee and needs all volunteers to come to the ashram, on weeknights or weekends, whenever possible to make all the props and decorations; if you cannot make it out to the ashram within the next few weeks, you can always help out during the next 3 class periods (May 10, May 17 and May 31), when the children are in class.

Next class will be Sunday, May 10, 2009.
