Comments
We started with some Yoga stretches and few simple poses to get settled in.   With a nice deep breath, we chanted Om three times followed by the three chants 'Om Ganeshaye Namaha'.

We practiced some of the shlokas we have learnt in the past weeks.  We spoke about the significance of these prayers.  The children did an awesome job reciting.

Quiet time was followed by chanting the first five shlokas from chapter 14 in the Bhagvad Geeta.  The  kids are doing amazing with their chanting. Thank you parents for helping them practice through the week.

During Sanskrit learning we practiced our counting in Sanskrit and also learnt to recognize our numbers from 1-1. 5 We also started to learn how we say the colors in Sanskrit.  We did 'Raktah' for Red, 'Pitah' for yellow, 'Neelah' for Blue, 'Harithah' for Green, 'Shwetha' for White and 'KrishnaH' for Black.  We will continue to add to this in the coming weeks.

For deity recognition we reviewed all the pictures of the God/Goddesses we have seen thus far.

We exercised our singing voices during bhajan time.  We learnt a new Bhajan for Lord Raam today.  We spoke about how we think about "Raam" in everything we do.  It was fun to learn some new words and add it to our song.

At story time we heard the story of  'Robert the Bruce and the Spider'.  This story comes from Scotland and teaches us about perseverance and the importance of trying.

After story time, we started a new  likita japa.  We learnt how write 'Raam'.  The kids did an amazing job.  For art activity, we made spider and learnt the Sanskrit word for it.

We ended our class the closing prayers.  Aarthi and pledge were in the auditorium.

Have a great week.  Stay warm!
