We have moved into our new classrooms and settled into to our two groups very well.  The kids are doing absolutely great and thank you again to the parents who have helped make this transition so smooth.  As far as us Sevak/ Sevikas are concerned, we are enjoying getting to know all of your kids well in these small settings.

We started the class with chanting Om and doing some warm up yoga stretches.  We did our opening prayers and then did our chant "Om Ganeshaye Namaha".  Today, we also learnt a new Stotra "Subham Karoti" and spoke about the significance of this prayer.

Quiet time was followed by chanting the first  shloka from chapter 14 in the Bhagvad Geeta.  We learnt the first line from the second shloka today.  The  kids are doing amazing with their chanting.  We hope they continue practicing through the week.

We learnt a new Bhajan  "Ganapathi Ganapthi" and the children had fun clapping and singing to this new song with lots of rhyming words.

During Sanskrit learning we practiced our numbers and also learnt to recognize them.  For deity recognition we saw the pictures of Ram Parivar and tied it in with the significance of Diwali.

At story time we heard the story of 'Grandma's Blackie'.  We saw the true love and affection between the grandma and the bull.

After story time we continued to practice our ऊँ. likita japa.  The kids are doing an amazing job with their writing, I think we will be ready to move on to 'Rama' soon.  We also made colorful of pictures of the bull from our story and learnt the Sanskrit word for it as well.

We think that a whole lot of learning happened in the form of fun and games.  We hope the kids had a great  time as well!
We ended our class with the closing prayers.

Before we sign off, we would like to inform you about the Seva Project for the Pre-K class  We will also be sending you emails with the following information.  Thank you all in advance for you support and participation

CORD works locally with Trenton Area Soup Kitchen(TASK) on various local Seva projects such as winter coat drive, Thanks giving baskets, school supplies drive etc. In connection with this, our class has been allotted the Seva project of donating socks to the homeless shelter. We are required to donate unisex tube socks. We have decided to take monetary contribution from the parents and buy the socks. They work out to $5.00/2pairs. We are planning to purchase the socks and give it to the CORD team by December. Please bring in your contribution of $5.00 when you come on 17th. Thank you very much. Your help and support are much appreciated.

Have a fabulous week!
