Comments:  Parents, before we get into a lengthly recap of our mornings activities, we would first like to thank you for taking time to meet with the Pre-K Team.  Also, big shout out to the parents who stepped in to help us out this Sunday. We could not have done it without your support!  Thank you again.

So, on that happy note... we had another awesome class today.  We are getting used to the routine of the class.  Here are some of the highlights from our class.....we learnt a new Stotra, 'Karagre Vasathe Lakshmi' that we say in the morning, along with its meaning.  We enjoyed dancing to Great God Ganapathi and reviewed the Deity recognition from last week.  We heard the story of 'The Bull called Delightful' from Jataka Tales.  The value that we focused on this week is 'Politeness' !  We did our very first Likita Japa today.  We started with Om.  The children were super excited to write.....they really felt grown up!  Last but not the least,  we did an Om coloring sheet.  The children made beautiful colorful pictures, that will be filed away in their folders.

As most of you probably know, our ashram hosts an annual Gita Chanting Competition (which is held in the Spring.) Your child will be responsible for memorizing the first 5 shlokas of Chapter 14. So, rather than springing this on the kids in the middle of the year, we have planned to make this chanting part of our weekly curriculum. We started our first shloka today... and the kids did fabulously well! Just so you know, we will be introducing one additional shloka at the beginning of every month. When we have reached Shloka # 5, then we will continue to chant all of these throughout the year. Please work with your child at home throughout the week. With just 5 or 10 minutes of daily practice, you will be amazed at how perfect your child's pronunciation will become.   So, we really encourage you to begin your studies now :-)

We hope that your child had a fun day in class... we surely did!   We look forward to seeing you on October 6. Same place. Same time.

But in the meantime, definitely get outside and enjoy this glorious weather that we have been blessed with!!! Nothing is more refreshing than breathing in that fresh clean air...

Lots of hugs to all of our young friends!! ♥♥♥

Homework Project

This OM is for the children to practice writing their strokes correctly. Having the children color the OM can also be a nice way for them to calm their minds and meditate on God.
