Comments:

We started our class as usual with chanting Om followed by the morning prayers.   We then chanted the new chant we had learnt last week "Om Ganeshaye Namaha".  This is an excellent way to think of Lord Ganesha,Goddess Saraswati, and our Guru.  This also gives us the opportunity to learn some new stotras.  So after our chanting we continued to practice the new stotra "Shubam Karoti Kalyanam" that we had learnt last week.  The kids seem to really enjoy this new stotra and they are learning really fast.
Quiet time was followed by chanting the first, second, and third shloka from chapter 13 in the Bhagvad Geeta.  The kids are doing amazing with their chanting.
At story time we heard the story of  'More than a Match'. After the story we did a 'sharing activity'.  Each child received an envelope and were told that it   is very important that everyone has the same thing.  When they opened up the envelope, some children had two stickers and some of them had two strips of paper.  When we brainstromed with them on how to fix the situation, the children suggested that they share the stickers with each other so everyone has the same.  This was the aim of the activity and it felt great to see them arrive at this on their own.
After this we played a round of "Krishna Vadati" and practiced our numbers to Sanskrit.  We continued to practice our likita japa. Some of kids were ready to write 'Ram' on the white board all by themselves.  They did an excellent job.  We will continue to practice this in the coming weeks. We then reviewed our colors in Sanskrit that we learnt last week.
We ended our class with singing the first two lines of Om Jai Jagdish Hare followed by the closing prayers.
Before we sign off, we would like to thank all the parents who contributed to the Seva Project for the Pre-K class.

Happy Holidays!
