Comments:
It was lovely to see so many of our little friends on this cold and blustery morning. We started the class with chanting Om and doing some warm up yoga stretches. We then did our opening prayers followed by our chant "Om Ganeshaye Namaha". After we settled in, we reviewed the stotras that we had learnt the past weeks, "Subham Karoti" and "Guru Brahma". We learnt a new stotra this week "Buddhir Balam" for Hanumanji and spoke about the significance of this prayer.
Today we had our friends from Section 2 join us for the next few segments of the class. Its been a few weeks since we saw our friends, and it was nice to be together.
Quiet time was followed by chanting the first and second shloka from chapter 14 in the Bhagvad Geeta. The kids are doing amazing with their chanting. Thank you parents for helping them practice through the week.
We continued to practice the Bhajan "Ganapathi Ganapthi" that we learnt last week and the children had fun clapping and singing to this new song with lots of rhyming words. The children had loads of fun trying to sing it faster and faster....
During Sanskrit learning we practiced our counting in Sanskrit and also learnt to recognize our numbers from 1-10. For deity recognition we reviewed the pictures of Ram Parivar that we had seen last week. We heard some amazing facts about Hanumanji and spoke about two other names we know him by: Anjaneya & Maruthi. We also learnt other names for Ram, Lakshman, and Sita: Raghav, Soumitran, & Janaki.
At story time we heard the story of 'More than a Match'. In the story we saw that when we are friendly and loving towards another person.....they respond with friendliness and love as well. The kids enjoyed this story.
After story time, our friends went back to their classroom. We worked on our ऊँ likita japa.
Section 1: We learnt some greetings in Sanskrit
Section 2: We played a round of 'Mama Namah' (my name is...)
We hope the kids had a great time. We surely did!!!
We ended our class with the closing prayers. Aarthi and pledge was in the auditorium.
Before we sign off, we would like to thank all of you who contributed to the Seva Project for the Pre-K class. _/\_ Your help and support are much appreciated.
Have a fabulous Thanksgiving!
