Comments:
We started with our beginning prayers. Later, we went over
the meaning of Sahana vavathu i.e. 'we all promise to be friends and
learn together'. The children were very excited about the new picture of
Hanuman in the class. That led to a discussion of todays topic which was
'Hanuman' and Hanuman Jayanthi which we celebrated recently.
The quiet song was 'Veera Maruthi', which led to discussion
of how Hanuman could fly.
We then said the stotras : Vakrathuda Mahakaya, Saraswathi
namasthubhyam and the new stotra 'Buddhir Balam' dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
Next was the story 'Hanuman and the Sanjeevani mountain' and how
as long as we have Hanuman and Hanuman's spirit with us there is always hope on
earth. We ended with how Sushena asked Hanuman to return the mountain to
the Himalayas so that the herbs would always be there when people needed
medicines. That is why we need to protect the Himalayas and the herbs all
over the world - a fitting lesson for Earth Day. Maybe all the kids in
class will go one day to see the Manasarovar and Kailas and look for the Sanjeevani
parvath.
After the story was Likhita Japa where we learnt how to write
Rama in Sanskrit. We colored a Hanuman drawing. We ask the parents
to please help the kids cut out the drawing pieces so that the children can
have their own Hanuman jig-saw puzzle. We also sent home a Rama likhta
japa sheet which the children can practice. Parents please help the
children trace the letters in the correct order and once they are comfortable
with that exercise, they can go start drawing the word on paper without the
tracing outline. Some of the kids tried that today and got it
right.
We have two exciting events coming up. The first is the
Bhiksha with Swamiji and Year End PARTY!!!.
NOTE TO
PARENTS:
-
Please sign up for volunteering in the class. Sign-up are available
with any of the Pre-K teachers. Please ask for it while dropping off/ Picking
up your kids for class. I have added the link for Volunteer LIST and Backup LIST for your reference.
-
Please do take the kids to bathroom before they are dropped off. As you know,
in this age group one raises the hand, the entire class wants to go to
bathroom.
